02 Border design

A white ceiling and hand-painted crown border form a delicate canopy for the nursery. The border design was based on an architectural detail in the furniture, which is visible here — inverted — in the top of the dresser's mirror frame (it forms an arrow with a hole in its center).

On the left, a baby grey squirrel scampers up a tree while at right a mother robin feeds her hungry newborns.
